Welcome to the Drama Room!

"Creating room for performers of all ages to GROW"

Miss Vic's Drama Room has been producing shows for young performers in Oneida and the surrounding areas for five years and is excited to add new performance workshops and classes for ages four and up.

Miss Vic's Drama Room strives to create a safe, supportive, yet challenging environment for actors of all ages and experience.

"My philosophy of the theatre is simple.  In order to act, DO!" exclaims Miss Vic.

Workshops and rehearsals are geared to providing room for the performer to work.

"Workshops are a great way to get your feet wet in the theatre. Whether you have been on stage for your entire life or just started today, the workshop room is where you can grow. The best part of a workshop is you cannot fail. Simple as that. You can look like a fool, learn a lot and have a whole bunch of fun, but the one thing you cannot do is fail."

The drama room focuses on acting as a craft and, because of that, you can never stop growing. "There is always something more to create, try, discover, explore...how cool is that?!"

The A.C.T. Program offers the young performer the opportunity to combine skills learned through workshop and put them into performance. Performances can be anything from a play, musical, or original material written by the cast and/or director.

Our performance(s) this Spring will be on the Oneida High School Stage Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th  (time and production(s) TBA).  Rehearsals begin in January (subject to change).

"The thrill of a rehearsal room is the number one reason why I do theatre. Whether I am acting or directing there is something magical about the rehearsal process. I always tell my actors, 'the performance is for the audience. Our rehearsals are for us. Be selfish and drink it up!' I have watched the theatre literally change the lives of children and teens- including myself. At Miss Vic's, I try and create a room where everyone is taking care of each other. I want each and every person in rehearsal to care about the people onstage, the crew in the wings, the writer that provides the story, and the moms that sew the buttons. We create a theatre family. A family that works hard together to produce good theatre. There are no STARS at Miss Vic's. We are all one great big company looking to tell a story the best way we can and GROW together along the way."
